This extended-stay hotel near the airport receives mixed feedback, with recent guests highlighting issues regarding safety, unresponsive staff, and critical maintenance failures. While some praise the modern, clean rooms and kitchen facilities, numerous complaints about an intrusive towel policy, pest infestations, and noise complaints significantly detract from the stay.
I a couple nights at WoodSpring Suites Tukwila, checking out on Saturday, (Feb. 28th) while the room looked nice at first glance, that's about where the positives ended. The amenities were terrible—no breakfast, even though there's a beautiful dining area, and there wasn’t even an ice maker. Front desk staff is not available 24 hours like every other hotel I've ever stayed in however if you want to check in after hours staff will make them self-available to take your money, which makes it obvious that anybody can come and go as they pleased as long as they know I guess that will let them in, which makes me question my safety for the simple fact that there is absolutely nobody securing the hotel or the grounds. In the morning, I asked for a late checkout & the lady at the front desk was extremely unwelcoming, & hesitant and only offered me 30 minutes. I also asked for latex gloves so I could clean up after myself attempting to make less work for housekeeping, she outright refused, acting condescending and rude the entire time. Overall, I did not feel welcome, and I wouldn’t stay here again."
0/5 Notified the front desk of an electrical SHORT tripping the breaker in the room for the microwave. I have unplugged the microwave and it’s still tripping. Normally I wouldn’t make such a big deal but the front desk totally dismissed me and my concerns assuming I don’t know what I’m talking about. Failed to update me on what was going on, I had to call the front desk to ask what was going on with it and they stated “our team is aware and they will get to it tomorrow” when I voiced my concerns that this circuit breaker hard tripping can be a fire hazard is an issue they just stated ver batum “I think you’ll be okay”. I have never felt so disrespected in an establishment and like my concerns were completely invalid. I’m just trying to heat my food man. The least they could have done is offer…anything, condolences, an apology, an update???? Like I feel I shouldn’t have to call an hour and a half after they came by to find out what’s going. I don’t expect royal treatment, but a little courtesy would be nice. I’m sorry but as of right now, I cannot recommend this hotel. I wish I could. I truly hope this isn’t due to unconscious bias or racism being a disabled POC.
I normally don't put bad reviews but I recently stayed with WoodSpring Suites Tukwila where I had a very bad experience. 1.) 3hrs before check in time someone called me and said the family suite I booked online weeks ago from their website was not available on the day of the check in. They didn't offer an alternative and I have ask for option because I didn't have time to book another place as I was literally boarding catching a flight on my way to Seattle. They suggested and gave me a downgraded room. They said they gave me lower rate but it turned out charging me more. 2.) I let them know that I have an elderly and a toddler with me but didn't find out that the beds of the alternative room where way too high that my elderly mother could barely reach to get to bed and even a toddler shrinks in the mattress when sitting or lying. We never slept comfortably. 3.) When I got to the hotel, there were nobody in the reception. I rang the bell probably 4x-5x before someone showed up and then left me waiting for a long period of time. 4.) The website says 24/7 coffee available but no coffee and no coffee cups. 5.) The elevator makes scary noise and shakes before getting off. 6.) There's a strong smell of smoking (pot perhaps) right before you get to the entrance of the hotel. 7.) The room was dirty. Crumbs of food present in the floor. Not sure if someone just missed it when cleaning. 8 )I didn't feel safe. I was also feeling in the edge the entirety of our stay for my elderly mother and my toddler. I don't know if I can recommend this place to anyone.
The room was nice and clean. I loved the kitchenette. I had to ask for towels and cookware but I believe that may have been just an infrequent error on the housekeeper’s part when the room was turned over. The staff was pleasant but, not available 24 hours. I didn’t ask for any services like cleaning during my stay, but I had an overall very comfortable stay. The hotel was pet friendly and I was reluctant because there were many pets on site but I must say, it was not an unpleasant experience at all.
**???? (Would be higher if not for towel policy…)** While staying at this hotel while the room and everything else was fine, I want future guests to be aware of something I’ve never encountered anywhere else: the towel policy. Since there’s no housekeeping service, you’re expected to bring your used towels to the front desk in a small black laundry basket to exchange them. Not a big deal in theory… When I went to get fresh towels, I was asked to sign a towel “log in/out” sheet. Then the staff member took the basket to the back and inspected each towel. In my case, she returned with one of my used towels still in the basket and informed me she wouldn’t accept it because it had “bodily fluids” on it — and that I’d be charged $20 for it. I was confused and pretty embarrassed, upon returning to my room and finding out my husband had used that towel to clean up spilled chicken noodle soup. Nothing unsanitary or concerning — just regular, everyday life. But I found the scrutiny extremely uncomfortable. I’ve stayed in many hotels, including extended-stay type properties, and I’ve NEVER had to sign a towel log or have them inspected like rental equipment. And definitely have NEVER been charged $20 for a basic, inexpensive hotel towel. The hotel itself is fine for the price, but the towel policy is outrageous.
If you don't mind staff coming into your room unannounced, this is the place for you! If you don't mind hair on towels, in the bathtub, in your bed, reserve a room now! If you want a room with a broken TV, run faster to this fine establishment! Let's not forget to mention trash in the hallways which could explain the funky smell. We didn't have to pay for parking though so that's a plus!
This was a one night stay. The staff were friendly and professional. The overall hotel was clean and tidy. Now for the other things. There was no soap. According to front desk they had run out. No soap. So I used my hand sanitizer to freshen up. There was also no shampoo or anything else that could be used to substitute. There is a small kitchenette in room. Very nice. No dishwasher soap. Went to ask for that since the guests before had loaded dishwasher and it needed cleaning. Nope no dishwasher soap. I cleaned the spaghetti from the dishwasher top and left it. Bathroom has no fan for those unfortunate moments. There was an amazing amount of pot fumes that kept finding its way into the room. Just opened the window. Other than this strange soap situation the place isn't too bad. Truly can not find any complaint about the staff I had interaction with.
Bed and pillows: very comfortable. Staff: super helpful and welcoming, especially Valentina she helped my daughter and I tremendously. Rooms: lived in so a bit warm but clean. Location: felt pretty safe, quiet by way of traffic but just some noises from other neighbors in the hotel. Some debris around building, and elevator could use a good service tune up but overall we had a good stay.
We chose this location because it was bear the airport. The rooms were clean and modern. Ours had a kitchen in it with a big fridge which was nice for our leftovers after dinner.
DON'T STAY HERE. ROACHES!!! This hotel is infested with roaches yet the rate keeps rising. I told management in June 2024 about the roaches yet he chose not to act. Now it's December and they are everywhere. On all floors, coming out of the vents and walls. I have 2 special needs kids and one with a eating disorder. I can't afford to replace all my food. The manager is not trying to communicate and compensate me instead I'm being intimidated and harassed. I fear for my safety and the safety of my children. I don't allow them to walk the hallways alone. Weirdos everywhere. They're one step from bedbugs. What are we paying for? My vehicle and others have been broken into. Security is lame. Dog poop in the stairway. Dog poop all outside can't walk around at all. I've never been in these conditions before.
