Motel 6 Seattle, WA - Airport offers convenient access to the airport, particularly for travelers returning rental cars, and generally receives positive feedback for its affordability and proximity. However, recent reviews highlight concerns regarding cleanliness, varying staff service quality, and potential issues with room conditions, including bed bugs and outdated amenities.
I was leery about staying here just based on the location but I have been pleasantly surprised. I originally booked through their app for a queen bed plus fridge but when I got there, they had upgraded me to a room with a queen beds/fridge at no upcharge (at least it didn't look like there was an upcharge). The gentleman at the desk was super friendly and helpful. I requested a bottom floor because I have a disability that would make carrying my luggage upstairs difficult. He didn't have a bottom floor one but was able to rearrange some stuff so my room was close to the stairs AND found someone to carry my two bags to my room. The rooms are clean, the guests are relatively quiet but friendly. One guest stopped me on my way upstairs the next day to chat and tell me a joke. My second day there, a man (I think he was with housekeeping) was going door to door checking on the guests, making sure everything was okay. The negative: 1. The area is kind of shady but most of Seatac is 2. There's gaps in the door so cigarette smoke and weed will filter in. That was probably one of the more annoying aspects. I hate the smell of weed.
I had a mixed experience here. On the one hand, the staff are very kind and attentive. The rooms are standard Motel 6 and mine was clean and warm when I arrived. However there was a big problem with my neighbor who started having a domestic fight at 2am and banging loudly on the wall next to my bed so much I could help it move. I had to call security because it felt so unsafe. Those people were then asked to leave. Keep in mind this is the only motel in miles that doesn't charge a security deposit. But it could just be the night I stayed.
I frequently stay here multiple nights a week. The parking lot is extremely well lit and safe, and they only charge around $5 for parking. Both of which is rare for this area. The rooms are always clean, how ever their TV situation is complicated. Wantnto plug in an HDMI cord? Maybe you can, maybe you can't. Some rooms you can access them, some you can't. Some rooms you can, but there is absolutely no way to change the input. That's thr absolute most frustrating thing about this place. They have a very eclectic assortment of staff. Some of them attentive, others can't be bothered to do their basic job descriptions. However, if you get lucky enough to have Taylor assist you with anything during your stay you will br blown away by her level of professionalism, kindness, and extremely welcoming attitude. I would expect to find her level of customer service at a 5 star motel, not motel 6. They are lucky to have someone of skill level on staff. House keeping can jump the gun and start pounding in your door upto an hour before checkout, which can be shocking, and annoying.
I am absolutely disgusted with my experience at Motel 6 in Seattle. We found BED BUGS in our room one was literally on the pillow. There is nothing more unsettling than realizing you’ve been sleeping in a bed crawling with bugs. When we brought it to the front desk, the staff was completely uncaring and dismissive. Instead of apologizing or taking it seriously, we were basically told we were out of luck. No urgency. No concern. No real solution. Just a shrug and attitude. Bed bugs are not a small issue they’re a health and sanitation problem. The lack of professionalism and empathy made the situation even worse. We were already stressed and uncomfortable, and their response made it clear that guest safety and cleanliness are not a priority here. I would strongly advise anyone considering staying here to think twice. No one should have to deal with bed bugs and then be treated like they’re an inconvenience for reporting it. Never again
If you're returning a rental car to the airport, this location could not be more convenient. My room was clean and the staff was helpful, and someone is in the office around the clock. The climate control worked perfectly. Just be aware this is a budget motel. It's not a new building, and some things may be a little worn out. And it felt a little stingy that the bed had just the thinnest possible blanket (not sure it even qualifies as such). And a bar of soap but no shampoo in the bathroom? If you care more about price or proximity to the airport than those details, go for it.
The main reason I only gave 2 stars instead of 4 is because they have the gull to charge extra for parking. I've never seen this at a Motel 6 and there was no mention of it when I booked online. It's a roadside motel. Charging extra for parking is nothing more than a hidden fee to increase the overall cost of the room beyond what any other motel 6 in the area charges. The staff was friendly. This is one of the few motels in the area that offer smoking rooms. The room was clean but the maintenance work done in it was very sloppy. I'm talking about the paint and finish work. Another big plus is they didn't require any deposit. This really would've been a 4 star if not for the petty hidden parking fee. The peruvian chicken place just around the corner was very tasty.
I love this particular location, it’s my go to spot. It’s economical and the staff here is always a pleasure to interact with. Taylor at the front desk is super friendly and outgoing; her vibe is just great to be around?? Most definitely recommend!
My initial interpretation of staff was feeling as if I was a bother, an annoyance. They were too busy on their computer or phone to want to help me check in. Later some were much nicer. I paid for a queen room but the bed was a full. The room decor is straight out of the 80s. The stove top didn't work. No cook ware at all. Nothing to clean dishes with (if you went and got them, like I did). There were cigarette burns on the blankets, and stains on the sheets. The location is great because it is right off the freeway, but the people walking around (other guests?) give a feel of the Jungle in Olympia. The unexpected but required $100 cash deposit was a shock. They kept it in little envelopes with the name and room numbers on them, right below check in! Talk about a robbery waiting to happen. I will never frequent this establishment again and do NOT recommend it for others.
Property is near seatac airport Room was neat & clean we were late check in and our host Taylor was very helpful to getting us checked in & to our room quickly. She puts customer service back in customer service. Thank you again for all the help Taylor we appreciate you!4
Me and my husband, we felt disappointed the reception employees…. they were very mean… we felt un welcome! There’s a lot of mold by the window of them and even the reception when I asked for hot water they said there’s the last one and there is no more and it’s unsafe this property motel first people outside yelling and even though people are there as they were very mean that they couldn’t sleep which I came to motel. I am allowed to make noises if I want to either recommend this place. Even they charge for the parking lot every night. I will post some photos just 15 employee but there’s another one per person, but I think her name was Jacqueline. She’s an old lady with blonde hair.
